Voiceover Demo Production

If you want to land the big jobs, you’re going to need a good demo.

A strong voiceover demo should sound like you at your best — and like the kind of work you actually want to book.

A strong voiceover demo will catch the ear of a casting director for all the right reasons, and is the most important thing you’ll need if you plan on working as a professional voice actor, second only to having talent and skill. It has to capture the listener’s attention right from the start, and showcase your dynamic range within 60-90 seconds. Voiceover demo production is an art form laced with subtleties.

You’ll be provided scripts to read that will then be mixed with music and sound effects to create your demo. You are welcome to submit any spots you’ve previously recorded. Must have own studio (or access to a studio).

Scriptwriting

Cause neck injuries!

Don’t give audiences the chance to miss your message.

Force them to careen when passing a radio and they hear your spot. Make them do a double take that’ll cause a sprain when they walk by a screen with your ad showing. Make the tears well. Stop them in their tracks with a big, goofy smile on their face when they get the warm fuzzies.

You have literal seconds to capture a listener or viewer’s attention. Once you’ve got it, it’s crucial that the message lands and motivates action.

Whether you’re selling luxury cars, promoting a local business, greeting callers on the phone, or helping a potential buyer understand how a new line of sensors works… whoever’s listening has to care. We’ll identify your needs, the target audience and what that script needs to accomplish.

TV / radio commercials, corporate videos, explainers, e-learning, IVR and on-hold messaging. Writing that commands attention, holds it and makes the message stick.

Have a script that almost works? Apply 20+ years of industry experience to get it over the finish line. Tighten up a sentence, add a key phrase, emphasize a certain word.
Sometimes a small rewrite makes a big difference once it hits the microphone.

Multilingual Voiceover Production

More than one language? No problem.

Dooley Media Works provides professional voiceover recording in Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Punjabi and many other languages. When you’ve been doing voiceover this long, you make some friends around the world. Friends with expensive microphones and fancy recording studios.

We coordinate with the talent, manage deliveries and give you a firm ETA for when you will have the finished audio.

On-Camera Work

Some people just have a face for radio.

Q. Does voiceover experience build on-camera skills, or does on-camera work bolster voice work?

A. Yes.

Imagination is key for both. To perform well as a voice actor, you need to be able to visualize clearly and vividly. Major market brands invest a lot of time and money in ad campaigns and it’s the talent’s job to understand the overall message and nuances of the script in front of them. If a script takes place on a farm, the talent have to imagine what it’s like to wake up at the crack of dawn and pull on work boots. What kind of clothes the character wears. Why they’re doing what they’re doing. It may sound silly, but these things make a big difference in the authenticity of the read.
